AERATION
Aeration is making holes in the lawn to allow water, air and seed into the soil. The more holes and openings, the better!
SPIKE AND SLICE AERATION
Our spike and slice aeration method does just that. It spikes and slices the lawn. This method of aeration opens up the soil and thatch without actually removing the turf. This allows water and air into the soil and root system of the plants and substantially increases the natural decomposition of the thatch layer.
Our aerating and slicing method makes ¼ x ⅞ inch holes every 3½ inches going forward and every 2½ inches across. In between the 3½ inch holes, there are 3/16 inch continuous slits. Just our aerators alone alone produce four (4) times more holes per square foot compared to coring aeration; with the slicing added, there are a great deal more.
SEEDING
Seeding is normally done at the same time. Our machine applies the seed just before the aerators and slicers impact the lawn, driving the majority of the seeds into the ground. In trouble areas, we can double aerate without damaging the existing turf.
